The National Firearm Safety Initiative (NFSI) has announced its formal support for Sound Sentinel Corporation’s groundbreaking project the Arms Recovery Unit Device (ARUD) currently in development with Design 1st of Ottawa.
NFSI’s endorsement highlights a shared belief that firearm safety requires more than education, it demands actionable, technology-driven solutions. Through this collaboration, NFSI is helping to accelerate ARUD’s progress and amplify awareness of its potential to reduce theft, suicide, and unauthorized firearm use across Canada.
“Sound Sentinel’s ARUD project represents exactly the kind of forward-thinking innovation Canada needs,” said an NFSI spokesperson. “We’re proud to stand behind this vision of safer communities through responsible ownership and smart prevention.”
With ARUD development advancing and NFSI’s national network providing advocacy support, this partnership marks an exciting turning point in the pursuit of real, measurable firearm safety progress.
Together, Sound Sentinel and NFSI are proving that innovation, responsibility, and compassion can coexist, and save lives.
